Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 in an Olympic event. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci when she was six. Comaneci would go on to become Romania's gymnastics coach. She took part in the Romanian Junior Championships where she placed 13th. She was awarded the championship in 1970. In her 1972 first international competition in a preolympics junior competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975, she won named the all-around Junior Champion. She won four gold and one silver medals at her debut competition as a senior which took place in the year 1975. This was her first time she competed as an adult. In 1976 she became the first female athlete in the world to utilize a reversed double salto in order to take off parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen she began her career in the entertainment business by performing in the form of a figure skater. Along with her younger twin brother Nina Wayne she was part of a traveling show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, in Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her career in the entertainment business in her teens. Her first professional gig was figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment show Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performances.
