Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
A baby was strapped to my back as another crawled around in the playground. I stayed up all night days over months of sanding, and removing wallpaper, with one child. Ha! It was all starting to form, but we weren't anywhere near finished. This was going take money, effort, and of course my favourite shopping experience to furnish this house. To stay the cost within my means I took my sons along to search for hidden treasures at estate sales. The weekly ritual was that we would go through estate and garage sales on Fridays and Saturdays and purchase a variety of old and new pieces. Then I would spend working on my projects out in the driveway. My passion for furniture restoration began when I saw a style like this. After our home was fully furnished, I could not quit! At the local market I set up a little area and then sold a few objects. Then I bought more that I knew about and had outgrown the space. At home, I started hosting open houses where more than 1000 people could come in and buy any item they wanted from the first floor over the course of a weekend. Growing Days was founded in my home. As my business flourished as did our family. I was finding that balance between what it took starting a new venture and be a mommy too. Growing Days fit perfectly. My beautiful Nora came into the world in 2013 and was our fourth child. Though I was content with the direction that my business went, I was feeling like I had to take some time off. I took a break from vintage furniture to spend more quality time with my children. This was precisely what I was looking for at the moment. The phone rang again after some time. I was getting calls from people needing help with the interior decoration and improvements. Most of them were people who visited my home in my open houses for furniture. Then I slowly took on new clients in my own way. Then I was able to have many clients, and had a business of home renovations. If you had told me that my venture would end up being the premise for a DIY Network show, I would probably have been astonished. In fact, I laugh a little when I remember the story.
