Jennifer Garner, who was born and was raised within Charleston West Virginia, on April 17th, 1973 was born in Houston, Texas. William John Garner worked as the chemist of Union Carbide. Her mother Patricia Ann taught at a local college. In the hopes of following in her father's footsteps, she graduated with an engineering degree in chemical technology. Since she wanted to be an actor, she moved into New York. In addition to appearing on Broadway shows, she was employed as waitress. Garner was a guest star in the television series "Felicity." Garner chose Gary Winick as the director of her film. The team continued to look for projects until Winick's death in 2011. Garner became an ambassador of Save the Children U.S.A. in the year 2009. This role entails promoting nutritional literacy, education and early education. In 2014, Garner has been a member of the board of trustees of this organization, pushing for early childhood education. She has been a spokesperson of the Early Steps to School Success Program, where she coaches parents on the best ways to assist their children in learning.
