Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on the 17th of April 1973. Her family was however raised at Charleston West Virginia. The father of Jennifer Garner, William John Garner, was a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann, her mother taught at a nearby college. So that she could follow the footsteps of her father, she obtained a degree in chemical engineering. In order to pursue her dream of acting, she decided to move to New York and try her acting career in the world of the world of Hollywood. In her Broadway performances were followed by a job at a local establishment. She was in a minor part in the film "Felicity" (where the show was where she also came into contact with Scott Foley). Garner was given her first major part with "13 going on thirty" which was a romantic comedy that was highly acclaimed. Garner played a teenage girl who was trapped within the adult body. Garner picked Gary Winick, who directed the film. They continued to work together in pursuing other projects even after his passing. Garner was made an ambassador for artists by Save the Children U.S.A. This role entails national literacy along with nutrition, early childhood education and different aspects. Garner has been a member of the board of this non-profit organization since 2014. She advocates early childhood education. In her role as an ambassador, Garner visits often with the families who participate in Early Steps to School Success the program which trains parents in how to assist young children to learn.
