Patricia Ann Garner taught in the same college as her. The father of her was an engineer in the chemical industry, and she aspired to become similar to her father. Since she wanted to be an actor, she moved to New York. As she appeared in Broadway shows, she also worked as a server at a nearby restaurant. Her cameo was in the television series "Felicity." (It it was on that show when she met her first husband, Scott Foley.) Garner made her breakthrough in the action film "Alias." Her first leading role was the widely praised love story "13 Thirty-something." The film starred her as an teen who was stuck in the body of the 30-year-old. Garner picked Gary Winick, who directed the film. Both Winick and Garner continued to work together to find other projects after his passing. in 2009 Garner has been named as an artist ambassador for Save the Children U.S.A. The role includes promotion of national literacy and nutrition, as well as early education and various other aspects. Garner has been a member of the board for the non-profit group from 2014. She promotes early learning for children. As a member of the Early Steps to School Success (EASS) Ambassador team for the EASS program, Garner visits families regularly to coach them on ways to inspire their kids to succeed.
