Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on the 17th of April in 1972. She was raised however in Charleston West Virginia. The father of Jennifer Garner, William John Garner, worked as a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann Garner, the mother of Patricia Ann, taught at the local college. She graduated in chemical engineering to emulate her father. To pursue her acting dream, she decided to move in New York and try her attempt at Hollywood. She worked as a chef in an eatery in New York and was a part of Broadway productions. She had a cameo role in the show "Felicity." (It was in this series that she met her first husband, Scott Foley.) Her breakthrough came in the action thriller "Alias." Her first lead role was in the widely praised romance "13 going on thirty." She played the role of a teenager caught trapped in the body of an older woman of 30. Garner chose Gary Winick, who directed the movie. She and Winick worked together in search of other projects following the death of Winick. Garner, who was designated as an ambassador for artists with Save the Children U.S.A. in 2009, was an important role within the organization. This position focuses on encouraging nutrition and literacy across the United States and early schooling. Garner is a board member of this non-profit organization since 2014. She promotes early preschool education. As an ambassador she visits frequently with families that belong to Early Steps to School Success, a program that coaches parents in how to assist youngsters in their learning.
