While working as a summer intern in her father's company Laura Linney fell in love with theatre. Later she attended Brown University she studied acting and also at Juilliard School, after which she began her acting career. Within a mere two years following graduation, she launched her Broadway-based career. In the following year, she made her debut on the world of film and television. Over the past few years, she's appeared in numerous film, TV as well as stage productions.
